Summer blog #1: Azaleas

I haven't been posting anything is a long while but starting today I'll be writing a summer blog and posting pictures as I go along. Mostly it'll be garden photos but we'll see what else comes up. It's been cold so nothing much blooms in the garden yet but last summer we planted 5 azaleas, all of them different, and I've been curious to see if they produce flowers this first year. One of them already did, tiny tiny ones which are now gone, and three haven't started yet, but this particular shrub (Rosy Lights Azalea) is in bloom right now.

From a distance it's nothing spectacular, fairly small, the stems are too few to create any kind of proper shape and the leaves are scarce. But the bright flowers catch your eye and the closer you get the more exquisite they appear.
